The Tägermoos is a 1.55 sq. km (0.6 sq. miles) area in the Swiss Canton of Thurgau and wedged between the German city of Constance and the centre of the Swiss municipality of Tägerwilen. It is beautifully situated on the southern shore of the Seerhein and borders the “Paradies” neighborhood of Constance to the east. It has held a special status ever since 1831: Although part of Switzerland, certain administrative tasks regarding the Tägermoos are exercised by the German city of Constance. As early as the 18th century, the farmers of the former village Paradies were growing vegetables in Tägermoos.
The "Villa Tägermoos" was built in 1865 as a customs house of the Swiss Confederation and served as an administrative building and accommodation until 2017. Under the supervision of the Heritage Protection Office of the Canton of Thurgau, the building was extensively renovated and extended by the new owner in 2019 and reopened as a holiday residence for short and long-term holidaymakers as of summer 2019. All superior apartments have a size of approx. 30 sq. m (322 sq. ft.) and boast spacious bathrooms, a kitchenette and superior, contemporary hotel facilities. The Villa Tägermoos is managed by the Trompeterschlössle Hotel & Résidence am Seerhein.
